so about *cough* philosophy *cough*

hmmm so have been thinking lots about philosophy this morning, and talking about it with mom, and i think maybe ....er... dr. *** isn't quite right. i mean as far as getting more ppl there, and bringing more attention to ourselves, definitely! but i don't think our goal is to disrupt the process of abortion. it is to change the minds and hearts of these women. i mean, i don't think i'd mind yelling things and the "doctors" and "nurses" and whatnot, but as far as the women going in... i dunno...i wouldn't want to talk at somebody yelling at me, and then later when i was feeling miserable and horrible, well i wouldn't want go to them for comfort-- that's the last place i'd expect to receive it from. hmmm need to read msgr. reilly's thing, but i think sidewalk counciling and protesting are two very different things, and at this point, i suppose i'm not sure how they can be combined. aren't we more of ministers of God's Word, than...sigh. though i do think that's great advice, and i'm still totally up for a field trip to see a protest on a college campus.

but ohohoh!!!! mom and i were thinking, what if the saturday before mother's day, we had an all day vigil outside the clinic, get it advertised in all the parish bulletins, and word of mouth of course, and along with the pamphlets and whatnot, passed out roses too!!!! and said "here, this is for mom" really, what woman wouldn't stop for a rose? and then roses are the symbol for life too! and they'd have to listen to us! at least for a second! the only problem is that it's the 13th, and i'm thinking the seniors have exams the next week

so that's what's on my mind this evening, besides the moral accomplishments of fanny price, durgh!

  • yeah so thinking about what dr. **** said, it would be really cool if we could get a ton of people out to the clinic and get the news ppl and newspaper and the whole enchilada but i'm not sure if having a yell off with the people at the clinic is the right thing to do. i must agree you when you talk about how the women would feel that are walking into the abortion clinic. it might make them feel miserable but then who are they going to talk to? certainly not the people at the sidewalk that are yelling things. so i don't know how that would work.

that's a great idea about having the all day vigil thing the weekend of mother's day. that would be *arms sticking out* totally wicked!!!!!!!!! i know i could probably go in the morning because that is the day of nicole's confirmation, which y'all have to go to if you can!!!

dr. ****** classes are so much fun. so what did mr. darcy have to say about this topic? i don't remember his take on it because me and a certainly giggly girl who has a high pitched laugh and sits next to me on my left were to busy looking at the storm and seeing how dark it was getting.

  • i like that name...giggly girl...very fitting...

but mr. darcy was saying how it's mainly just a grassroots thing, and getting ppl there is key. you going is the best thing ever!!!! and mom went later last saturday and said all the dr.'s and nurses were leaving around 3:00, so it'd probably only go until about then.

sooo exciting about nicole's confirmation!!!! i definitely want to be there!!!!

    ...hopefully the bishop will too.
